Apple Pie...

Part A : Crust

1 egg
1 egg yolk (for glaze)
1 tbsp sugar (icing)
1 pinch salt
200g butter
280g flour

- measure the flour, sugar, egg and salt together. Stir to combine.
- add the chilled butter pieces and shortening to the bowl. Cut them in with a pastry cutter or knife. Don't over mix them.
- turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, the put it in container and put into fridge for 15 minutes.
- after take it out from the fridge then bake it for 10 minutes.
- add filling (as below)



Part B : Filling

4-5 apples
1/2 tbsp cinnamon powder
3 tsbp brown sugar

- peel, core and slice the apples.
- mix sugar, cinnamon powder in large bowl.
- stir in apples
- pour into pastry-lined pie plate

- cover with top crust and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top.
- glaze the top with egg yolk
- bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
